$500,000 for a Bloody Sculpture

The National Portrait Gallery in London has added a sculpture from one of the UK's most famous living artists, Marc Quinn, to their repertoire.

Quinn is known for his unique sculptures that depict the human body using materials such as ice, marble, glass and/or blood.
The sculpture that will be going to the National Portrait Gallery in London is a sculpture that Quinn does every four years.

Find out more about this sculpture when you continue reading...

The sculpture is Quinn's self portrait...and it's filled with 10 pints of his own blood.

The unique sculpture is on display in a Perspex box filled with silica chilled to negative 18 degrees Celsius, so that the blood won't liquify.

Below is a picture of the bloody sculpture:

aaahhh, the wonders of modern art.

My words are up.

  1. How is this art? It's not...there is a difference between art and spectacle.
