Karrine Steffans had a fiesty live interview on CW 31 in Sacramento about her new book,"The Vixen Manual". The interview was getting so intense that it eventually had to be cut short.
This live interview is clearly an "Interview Gone Bad". I can't tell who is more in the wrong- Karrine or the CW anchors?
Watch the video for yourself when you read the rest...
As a journalism student who is interested in Broadcast, I found this interview to be quite shocking. One thing is for sure- You get all kinds of situations when you go LIVE, and you have to be ready.
I definitely feel that the anchors should have known a little more about the book. But if they only received it the day before, what else could have been done? But the male anchor was completely in the wrong for his sign off comment, that was clear.
I also feel that Karrine could've been a little more respectful as a guest on the show. The female anchor did have a point- how is the book about "all those lessons that no one gave me as a young child"... if there are explicit drawings of sexual positions inside??
What do YOU think? What went wrong here?!
COMMENT!
My words are up.

Both parties were in the wrong, the 1st question for karrine was not professional... but Karrine if you have heard her speak before she always get offensive when somebody brings up her past... She has to live up to her mistakes and realize that ppl will bring that up until she shows that she is a different person... She keeps coming out with sex books, so thats how she will be treated... But after the interview, the anchorman should've disrespected the book like that... Not Professional on both parts... this wouldnt happen on Good Morning America! LOL! Nice Work Alex Really Proud of you!

I think the both anchors were on the wrong if you listen to his mockey of what she's done it the past we've all made mistakes in our past not as grand as Karrine some small but she handle herself with dignity even though they try to be little her he even went on to say she was a video booty shaking chick neither would dare ask Kendra,Paris,Kim or either these blonde caucasian woman these question you know when some one is spitting in your face an telling you it's raining bloody hell they owe her an apology Karrine was on a show in NYC the today show with Hoda an Kathy an not once did they let her feel like she was a pig in the mud say what you want about her past but every one needs a second chance
ReplyDeleteI do think the news anchors were somewhat wrong. And the comment above makes an excellent point about other "industry" women not receiving the same treatment. Truth be told though....Karrine had that coming. You can't expect everybody to be completely accepting to a book that teaches women how to have sex and get a husband. Especially if your first book was about your exploits as a music/entertainment industry slut. And for her to say that the book teaches the things she never had the opportunity to learn as a young girl....SMH. Karrine is right, maybe she would have been even more of a pro if she had those sex diagrams in the book at a young age (Intense Sarcasm noted).
ReplyDeleteAs for the news anchors...They put her ass on the hot seat. If I was in their shoes, can't say I wouldn't have done the same thing.
THIS is why I no longer watch television. Antagonostic idot right wing journalism is sooooooooooooooooo old.
ReplyDeleteAlex, I'm proud of this! Good work. My comment is a little late, but I just watched her interview this morning. My first reaction was 'whooa bad start.' It doesn't matter what this woman's past is. Should she really be judged from that every day? People who continue to scrutinize her based on those issues are never going to allow her to succeed, grow, or get better. Journalists should never let their biases effect their reporting. The anchors gave the world yet another example of how unfair the media can be.

Karrine books all have Vixen in the title, meaning it is a book series. If she don't want anyone bringing up her past she needs to take a different angle at her writing abilities. Stop writing sex books because that forces people to recall your sexual history, the very thing that got you started writing books in the frist place. If she is ashamed of her past why did she put it in a public book?
